Happy Friday friends!! I want to do a quick review on my current obsession which is Direct TV’s new channel, DOGTV (channel 354). It’s literally
television for your dog! It’s designed to ease boredom and stress levels for
your dogs when they are left home alone for a long period of time. What I love about this channel is that
it is has 3 features: relaxation, stimulation, and exposure.
Out of the
3 features, I only got to watch relaxation with Bruno and I have to admit, it’s
pretty damn relaxing. It plays calm music and shows scenes of dogs cuddling with
each other and sleeping at home or on a park bench; it will also show a visual
of what looks like an old school screen saver, which even I found very soothing.
From what I’ve
read online, the stimulation segment plays visuals and sounds that is suppose
to stimulate the dog’s brain activity; and the exposure segment plays sounds
and visuals of things dogs are generally afraid of (vacuums, cars, etc.), and
helps the dog become accustom to these sounds (think of it as exposure therapy
for dogs). You can read more about this amazing channel here.
Our little
family definitely gives this channel our stamp of approval. It’s free now up
until August 14th, then it will be a monthly fee of $4.99 to keep
DOGTV.
Bruno has always enjoyed watching tv since he was a baby |
Now I can leave for work without feeling guilty |
I really encourage dog owners to take advantage of the free trial (why not? it's free!); and for those of you who already are, I hope your dogs are enjoying this channel as much as Bruno is.
